Flood warning issued for Dublin

Flood warnings remain in place for Dublin, where high tide is expected around midday.

Dublin City Council has put in place a number of measures to deal with the danger, in line with warnings issued by Dublin City Council’s Flooding Advisory Group.

The local authority said that it is confident the measures being put in place with be sufficient.

A “Tide Report Centre” has been set up to take calls from the public.

This will be operated until 3pm, by when the high tide will have subsided. People can contact the helpline on 01 222 2155.

Elsewhere, high tide passed off in Cork this morning without incident.

However, motorists are still advised to drive with extra care, particularly in Kilkenny and Waterford - as well as in Dublin and Cork.
