Councillor calls for crackdown on knife crime in Dublin

A Dublin City Councillor is calling on the Government to do more to clamp down on knife crime.

It comes after a 22-year-old, German student was stabbed to death in an apartment in Rialto yesterday morning.

Another man was also stabbed during the incident at the Herberton apartments and he is now said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Two teenage boys, aged in their mid teens and late teens, have been arrested.

Local Councillor Rebecca Moynihan has said knife attacks are becoming too prevalent and something needs to be done.
