Father of three dies in Clare farm accident

A man in his 50s has died on a farm in Co. Clare.

The accident happened near Cooraclare in West Clare yesterday, when the man fell off the roof of a shed he was repairing.

Family members raised the alarm and emergency services rushed to the scene but they were unable to resuscitate the injured man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood the man is married with three children, one of whom reportedly tried to revive him before the medical team arrived.

His body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.

The Health and Safety Authority and gardaí have been informed.
