Catherine Nevin in new legal battle over family assets
The High Court is being asked to rule if Catherine Nevin's conviction for murdering her husband can be used against her - in a legal row about their joint assets.
Catherine Nevin claims she had no hand, act or part in her husband Tom's death and believes that she is entitled to a share of their jointly held assets.
These included the Jack White's pub near Brittas Bay in Wicklow where he was shot 16 years ago, which she subsequently sold for IRÂŁ620,000.
However, Tom's brother and sister, Patrick Nevin and Margaret Lavelle, believe Catherine Nevin should not profit from her wrongdoing.
The 61-year-old is still serving a life sentence for her husband's murder having been convicted by a jury in 1999.
The High Court is being asked to decide whether her conviction can be used as evidence against her in the upcoming legal battle over assets.
While she has exhaused several appeals, her lawyers say the dispute should be put on hold to allow her to pursue a fresh Supreme Court challenge.
