Gardaí following several lines of inquiry in Cavan shooting

Gardaí have said they are following a number of lines of inquiry following the fatal shooting of a former Garda near Bailieborough in Cavan yesterday.

A post mortem is being carried out this morning on the body of John Keirns, who was found dead with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in his house on the outskirts of the village of Canningstown at around midday.
