Quinn Group workers stage one-day work stoppage

A protest is underway at all major Quinn companies at Ballyconnell, Co Cavan this morning.

Just after 7am, almost 50 people gathered at the entrances to Quinn Packaging, Quinn Therm and Quinn Cement.

Gardaí in Ballyconnell say all entrances to the premises are blocked by a number of agricultural vechicles.

It is understood employees, businesses and the community local to the Quinn Group are staging a one-day work stoppage at Quinn Group.

In a statement, they say they are angry and dismayed at the 'ongoing, senseless, damaging dispute' between the former Anglo and the Quinn family.
