Work will officially begin today on the Ballaghaderreen bypass on the Mayo/Roscommon border.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar will be on hand to turn the sod on the project on the N5 at 3pm.

The 13.6 kilometre bypass is to cost around €60m.
