Two investigations launched into Meath crash that killed woman

Gardaí and Bus Éireann are conducting separate investigations into a crash between a bus and a car in Meath last night which claimed the life of a woman in her 30s.
The woman's three-year-old niece, who was travelling with her, survived the crash. The young girl was hospitalised with injuries described as not life-threatening.
The woman was killed when the car she was driving hit a bus on the Kells Road, on the outskirts of Navan, at 6.10pm yesterday.
There were 53 passengers on board the bus. Ten of them and the driver have been treated for minor injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
It is understood the crash occurred when one of the vehicles veered onto the wrong side of the road.
Bus Éireann spokesperson Andrew McAlindon said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased's person's family and friends. Bus Éireann will be conducting its own investigation, and cooperating fully with the garda investigation, which is on-going."
