INM executive in court bid to stop dismissal
An executive with Independent News and Media is in the High Court trying to stop his dismissal.
Karl Brophy, director of corporate affairs and content development said that he was told last April he was being let go because of his perceived closeness to former INM CEO Gavin O'Reilly.
He said that he was told this would be problematic for other directors and their shareholders.
He also claims that he was also told that media coverage in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent on shareholder Denis O'Brien and the Moriarty Tribunal had gone too far.
His lawyers say his dismissal is motivated by wrongful motives and he was not given a fair opportunity to deal with allegations of misconduct.
