Survey: Nearly 40% admit to weekly bout of road rage

Nearly 40% of Irish drivers admit to shouting or getting angry behind the wheel on a weekly basis.

A survey by Continental Tyres shows more than one in 10 motorists admit to daily bouts of road rage, while 13 per cent have got out of their car to confront another driver.

The most common form of aggression is getting a blast of the horn from another driver, followed by offensive hand gestures and being ‘tailgated’.

Over half of people think learner drivers are the most annoying, 45% say older or slow drivers are worst with 43% citing boy racers as the most infuriating.
