Gilmore in Luxembourg for EU meeting
Syria and Iran will be top of the agenda today, as the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore joins fellow EU Foreign Affairs Ministers for a meeting in Luxembourg.
The meeting of the 27 ministers is expected to produce tough new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear programme.
It is also expected to agree fresh measures against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.
Last night the EU group met with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss their differences over the handling of Syrian crisis.
