Gardaí are appealing for information to a drive-by shooting in the capital last night in which a 16-year-old boy was injured in the attack.

Gardaí are appealing for information to a drive-by shooting in the capital last night in which a 16-year-old boy was injured in the attack.

The victim was standing outside a house on Lismore Road in Crumlin at about 9pm last night when a number of shots were fired from a passing car.

Gardaí are describing the vehicle as a black-coloured saloon.

The boy was brought to St James's hospital by ambulance and his injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and an investigation has been launched.
