The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore is to appoint a new junior minister for health in the near future after Roisín Shortall's resignation last night.

This morning, Labour deputy leader Joan Burton will have to face the opposition in the Dáil chamber following Deputy Shortall's announcement last night.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
