Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which has left a male motorcyclist in a serious condition in hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which has left a male motorcyclist in a serious condition in hospital.

It happened at 6.30am this morning at the junction of Drumcondra Road and Griffith Avenue.

The motorcyclist, who is 41, is being treated at Beaumont Hospital, while the 68-year-old driver of the car he collided with has been taken to the Mater Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the junction has reopened to traffic, but AA Roadwatch is reporting delays on approach from Whitehall Church, on Collins Ave and Grace Park Rd.

It is also heavy inbound from Hart's Corner through Phibsborough Village on the N2.
