Professional job opportunities experience 2% decline

Job opportunities for professionals fell again last month according to the latest Morgan McKinley Irish Employment Monitor for August, which measured a 2% dip in professional job vacancies.

Compared to last year, that marked a small 1% increase in the number of professional job opportunities.

The authors of the report say the decrease is down to inactivity over the summer.

Meanwhile, the report finds that the most hotly sought after professionals are those with IT development skills; as well as accountants with a second European language - and others from a financial or banking background.
