Many of those aged under 21 travel to the Mexican city of Tijuana near the US border for nights out.

But a local police sergeant has warned that boozed-up college-goers are easy targets for criminals who prey on them after long drinking sessions.

Muggings, drink spiking and even kidnappings are common problems in Tijuana.
