MCD brand Garda report as 'unbalanced'

MCD has branded a Garda report - in relation to last month's controversial gig at the Phoenix Park in Dublin - as 'unbalanced'.

Nine people were stabbed and scores more were arrested during the Swedish House Mafia concert on July 7th.

The report highlights that Gardaí warned the music promoter about a number of concerns before the event - and finds that the Phoenix Park is not a suitable venue for what it calls "outdoor electric music concerts".

Stuart Clarke of Hot Press Magazine disagrees:

"If you have 40,000 youngish people in any area, a big city, there will be public order offenses. If it was one person who caused this trouble how can you legislate for that", he said

"...The court cases must be pivotal to any kind of reasoned decision about these concerts going ahead in future".
