Funeral of swimmer Casey takes place

The funeral has taken place of Paraic Casey in Co. Cork today.

The 42-year-old swimmer died last weekend while trying to cross the English channel.

He was just 90 minutes away from completing the 34km swim when he suffered a heart attack in the early hours of last Sunday.

Since his death, the onlnine charity page for Paraic's swim has seen a surge in donations, taking the total he's raised for St Vincent de Paul and Marymount Hospice in Cork to more than €11,000.
