Decline in Gaeltacht visits

New figures show a decline in young Irish people heading to the Gaeltacht during their summer holidays.

Less than 24,000 children are heading off to the Gaeltacht this summer, compared to 28,000 in 2008.

A group representing Irish colleges around the country, Concos, has put it down to the economic downturn.

There's better news for colleges offering courses on foreign languages though, with several reporting rising demand for their classes.
