Elderly woman dies in west Cork crash

A woman in her 70s has died after a crash in Glengariff, Co Cork yesterday evening.

The elderly woman was the only occupant of a car that collided with a van at Dromgariff in the west Cork area at about 7.30pm.

She was taken to Cork University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Motorists in Cork are being advised that the N71 Glengarriff to Bantry Road is closed at Hollyhill until this afternoon and diversions are in place.
