Gardaí appeal for information after discovery of suspicious device

Gardaí in Cork are looking for information about a suspicious device found on the Old Youghal Road.

The device, described as viable and dangerous, was found under a parked car at 1am yesterday morning and made safe by the army bomb disposal team.

Gardaí want to speak to anyone who noticed anything suspicous near The Cow Bar on the Old Youghal Road late on Wednesday night or in the early hours of Thursday.

They also want to hear from a man who made a number of calls to the emergency line at Angelsea Street Garda Station early yesterday.
