New FOI legislation to cover Gardaí and Central Bank

An Garda Siochana will for the first time be subject to public scrutiny under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, has confirmed that new legislation will be brought forward extending the remit of the act.
