Court frees Dublin councillor's grandson on bail in IRA memnership trial

A grandson of Independent Dublin city councillor and former Sinn Féin member Christy Burke who is charged with IRA membership and firearms offences was freed on bail by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin today.

A grandson of Independent Dublin city councillor and former Sinn Féin member Christy Burke who is charged with IRA membership and firearms offences was freed on bail by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin today.

Ciaran Burke (aged 20) of Ferrycarrig Park, Coolock, Dublin was charged on Wednesday with membership of an unlawful organisation within the State, namely the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hEireann, otherwise the IRA on July 2, 2012.
