Minister predicts massive increase in bankruptcy applications

Justice Minister Alan Shatter said today that he is estimates that there will be 3,000 bankruptcy applications in the first year of new insolvency laws, up from just 30 last year.

Alan Shatter is beginning the passage of the new Insolvency laws through the Oireachtas, but it is unlikely to be completed until later this year.
