McGuinness addresses Sinn Féin event in London
The North's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, has addressed a Sinn Féin event in London this evening.
Speaking about his meeting with England's Queen Elizabeth yesterday, he compared it to some of the most political, significant and symbolic events throughout his forty-year career.
Mr McGuinness said the meeting was a deliberate and pointed way of offering a hand of friendship to Unionists who have a deep affinity to the Queen.
He said that although it was a very brief meeting, he believes it will have much longer effects in defining a new relationship between Britain and Ireland.
