Garda patrol car involved in Limerick collision

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating after a two-car collision in Co. Limerick this afternoon, involving a patrol car.

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating after a two-car collision in Co. Limerick this afternoon, involving a patrol car.

The collision happen on the N21 between Rathkeale and Newcastle West at about 2pm.

An officer who was in the squad car, and two passangers from the second vehicle - a Kia jeep - have been taken to hospital, where they are being treated for their injuries.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and investigators are en route to the scene.
