The Government said today that it has received no proposals from the Troika to further restructure Ireland's bailout deal.

The Government said today that it has received no proposals from the Troika to further restructure Ireland's bailout deal.

It follows reports that the EU, the ECB and the IMF are considering giving Ireland extra time to pay back the country's rescue loans.

The government has already received agreement from EU heads of State that the maturity dates on some of its loans would be extended.

RTÉ reported today that the Troika is considering a significant restructuring of Irelands loans, giving an extra 15 years to repay the money.

It was claimed that the move is aimed at enhancing Ireland prospects of returning to the bond markets next year.

A spokesman for the Government said this afternoon that its received no proposals from the troika for a further extension of maturities on Ireland's loans.

He said further extensions are being sought, and the Government continues to work to get a more favourable deal for the taxpayer.
