Elderly woman dies in Drumcondra accident

Gardaí are investigating the death of a woman in her 60s, who appears to have been fatally injured by her own car.

It happened on Millbourne Avenue in Drumcondra just after 1pm this afternoon.

The woman was taken to the Mater Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Forensic tests are being carried out at the scene, which remains closed as a result.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. In particular they want to talk to anyone who noticed a blue Ford Fiesta in the area.
