Lifeboats aids two yachts
Two yachts have been brought to safety by the RNLI lifeboat in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin earlier as gale force winds lashed the east coast.
The yachts had been returning from an offshore race when the call for assistance was sent out.
No one on board the boats was injured in the incident, which happened at about 8am this morning.
The lifeboat returned to station shortly before 10am.
“The casualties in these incidents were both prepared for offshore conditions but unforeseen circumstances meant they needed the assistance of the lifeboat on this occasion,” commented Mark McGibney, RNLI Coxswain at Dun Laoghaire who was in charge of this morning’s operation.
