Galway tallies indicate Yes vote

The Galway West tally is 58% yes in favour of the Fiscal Treaty referendum, and 42% no.

Tallies indicate a strong yes vote in Renmore and Salthill, with voters there voting two to one in favour of the Fiscal Treaty.

Some 64% of Moycullen voters said Yes, and 62% said Yes in Knocknacarra, while in Ballybane 55% said No. In Mervue, the count was tight, with 53% of voters saying Yes.

The votes were tight in Eamon O'Cuiv's heartland, with the Connamara tally coming with 121 votes in

favour, and 119 against. In An Earca, Clonbur, it was tight too, with 126 Yes votes to 109 Nos.

Carraroe voted no, with 60% of voters there saying No.

In Galway East , 64% voted Yes and 41% said No, after 58% of ballot papers have been tallied.

Rural voters in Galway East were heavier on Yes votes, and the Yes side was stronger in the

southern part of Galway East.

Some 64% of the Athenry electorate voted Yes, in Loughrea the Yes side got 59% of the vote, while the Yes number was 60% in Portumna.

The highest Yes vote came from Cappataggle with 78% of voters there voting in favour of the

monetary amendment.

The highest Yes seen so far in Galway East was in Tuam area 6, with 47% voting No there.
