Anglo probe 'nearly complete'

The Director of Corporate Enforcement Paul Appleby has said his investigation into Anglo Irish Bank is nearly complete after sending more files to the DPP.

His office has now sent nine extensive files to the DPP.

Appleby is probing loans to directors, the bank's financial statements and transactions between Anglo and Irish Life and Permenent.

The Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation is also investigating Anglo Irish Bank.
