Pistols, grenades and ammunition found in Limerick search
Gardaí have recovered pistols, hand grenades and ammunition in a planned search of a premises in Limerick.
The search followed the seizure of €1.5m worth of cannabis resin in the city on Friday.
Members of the Defence Forces attended today's search, which yielded two pistols, about 400 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of hand grenades.
The two men arrested in connection with the drugs seizure appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at 2.30pm today.
Forty-four-year-old Shane Ferguson, of Meadowbrook Road, Mill Road, Corbally, and 35-year-old Kieran Nevin, of Oliver Plunkett Street, Saint Mary's Park, Limerick, appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this afternoon.
They were both charged with possession of cannabis resin for sale or supply at a house in Lisnagry, Limerick, last Friday.
Both were remanded in custody to appear in court again on May 31.
