Irish woman found dead in Japan hotel

A young Irish woman has been found dead in Japan.

The 22 year old from Wexford is understood to have been taking part in a study abroad programme - and had attended a concert last night.

She was found dead in her hotel room in Tokyo late last night.

A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs has said that the girl's family are receiving consular assistance, and the circumstances surrounding her death are now being investigated by police in Tokyo.
