Man arrested after Waterford cannabis haul

A man has been arrested in Waterford after gardaí discovered cannabis during a planned search of a house in Tullow.

A man has been arrested in Waterford after gardaí discovered cannabis during a planned search of a house in Tullow.

The raid, which took place yesterday evening, was part of an on-going garda investigation.

During the search, cannabis plants, cannabis herb and resin with an estimated street value of €80,000 was seized.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene. He is being held at Dungarvan garda station.

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s has appeared before a sitting of Carlow District Court, charged in connection with a drugs seizure in the town of Old Leighlin.

Three hundred cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €242,000, were discovered by gardaí during a planned search of a house in the town last Friday.

A man, said to be a Polish national, was arrested at the scene, and charged in Carlow District Court last night.
