Gardaí in Carlow have arrested a man after cannabis plants were discovered growing inside a house in Old Leighlin.

Gardaí in Carlow have arrested a man after cannabis plants were discovered growing inside a house in Old Leighlin.

During a planned search yesterday evening, officers uncovered more than 300 plants of the drug, with an estimated street value of €242,000.

A man in his mid 20s, believed to be a Polish national, was arrested at the scene.

He is being questioned at Carlow garda station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
