IDA boss: No vote may affect investment

The Head of IDA Ireland has warned that foreign direct investment into Ireland will slow down if we vote no in the EU Fiscal Treaty referendum.

"We're listening to our clients around the world," Barry O'Leary said.

"We have the responsibility of bringing foreign direct investment into Ireland and we want to make sure that the environment in Ireland is one that continues to attract foreign direct investment, because as a country we rely quite heavily on it in comparison with other countries."

He added companies may be hesitant to invest in Ireland if we reject the treaty, as a period of uncertainty is likely to follow.
