Two held in North in connection with 1996 killing

Two men suspected of murdering a businessman in the North have been arrested.

Simon Tang, aged 28 and of Chinese origin, died after he was attacked and robbed outside his takeaway shop in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, in June 1996.

The men, aged 36 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of murder in the town this morning as part of the renewed investigation. They were taken to the serious crime suite at Antrim police station for questioning.

The renewed investigation was featured on the BBC Crimewatch programme in March.

Two women and a man have been charged with offences linked to the murder in the past month.
