The Fianna Fáil TD Eamon O'Cuiv could face disciplinary action over his decision to campaign against the EU Fiscal Treaty.

The party's chief whip Sean O'Feargail has asked the Galway TD to meet with him to discuss his future.

It is understood the parliamentary party will decide on whether action should be taken against Mr O'Cuiv if he decides to actively campaign for a 'No' vote in the referendum.

His opposition to the treaty puts him in direct conflict with leader Micheál Martin and the rest of the party's TDs and Senators.
