Troika due back in Dublin for bailout review

Representatives of the Troika- the EU, the ECB and the IMF - are due back in Dublin today to meet ministers for their sixth review of the Government's implementation of the bailout deal.

During their visit the Troika will review the Government's progress on selling off bank assets, the sale of State companies and the introduction of water charges.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the Cabinet would meet today to consider the establishment of a new centralised water utility company, to take over the provision of water services from local authorities.

Ministers are also likely to be briefed on the potential cost of water meters for homeowners, something which opposition parties are set to seize upon.

And in what may be seen as a positive sign for Ireland, this review will also be the last for the ECB representative Klaus Masuch, who has been moved permanently to oversee operations in Greece.
