Prison governors face action after violent prisoner released by mistake

Three prison governors in the North face disciplinary action after a violent prisoner was released by mistake, a report said.

George Damien McFerran (aged 47) serving time at Maghaberry high security jail for assault and possession of an offensive weapon, was among several inmates freed in error. He was rearrested after a weekend on the run in June last year.
