Air Corps transfers patient from mid-west to London hospital

A critcally-ill patient has been transferred to hospital in London, in an overnight operation involving the Air Corps.
A CASA fixed wing aircraft was dispatched after a request from the HSE Ambulance Control Centre.
The 'priority one patient' was brought from the mid-west region under Garda escort to Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, Co Dublin and arrived at Heathrow aiport shortly before midnight, before being transported by road to hospital.
