Explosive device thrown at Dublin house

An investigation is underway this morning after an explosive device was thrown at a house in Dublin.

It happened just before midnight on the Clogher Road near Crumlin.

It is understood the device partially exploded. Nobody was hurt and no significant damage was caused.

Gardaí are investigating reports that two males were spotted fleeing the scene afterwards.

The Army bomb disposal team was summoned to examine the remains of the device and the scene is sealed off this morning for a full technical examination.

The team later received a follow on request to attend a home at Limekiln Green, Walkinstown.

There they made a second viable improvised explosive device safe.
