Improvised explosive injures bomb disposal officer in Cork

An Army bomb disposal officer has been taken to hospital after an improvised explosive device went off in Cork city overnight.

The team was called out shortly after 11pm when the device was discovered under a vehicle outside a home in the Ballyvolane area.
