Man killed in Kilkenny road accident

A 21-year-old man has died today after a 4x4 vehicle and a car were in collision in Co Kilkenny.

The two-vehicle collision happened on at Brownstown, on the road between Thomastown and Inistioge at about 8.30am this morning.

The driver of the car was fatally injured, while the male driver of the 4x4 received minor injuries.

The road has been closed pending a Garda forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
