Mother set to be sentenced after admitting child neglect

A 34-year-old mother is to be sentenced on Thursday for neglecting her five children, who were described in court as being underfed, filthy and without toilet training.

The woman, who cannot be named to protect the children's identity, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to ten counts of neglecting the children from May 2005 until September 2007, when the children were taken into care.
