Doctors to fit 'bionic' ear implant on Cork boy
A boy from Cork is facing revolutionary surgery tomorrow as doctors try to restore his hearing.
Three-year-old Calum Geary was born without any hearing nerves in his ears, and experts in Manchester will try to fit him with a 'bionic' ear implant.
He is expected to spend five weeks in hospital there, before moving to the US for speech therapy.
His parents Andrew and Helen have said they are overwhelmed by the support shown to them by people all over the country.
