Gas leak closes main Cork railway station

Cork's main railway terminal is closed this evening following a gas leak, Irish Rail has said.

Bus transfers are in place to Mallow on the Cork-Dublin line while Cork-Midleton services are suspended, officials said.

Members of the public were evacuated from the station and emergency services are at the scene of the incident.

UPDATE 6.20pm: Station now reopened, trains operating on both Cork-Dublin and Cork-Midleton lines.
