Govt announces €5m for West Africa

Ireland is providing €5m in funding for emergency relief in the Sahel region of West Africa.

The funds are to target 10 million people who are at risk from a growing food crisis.

The funding will support the activities of major UN agencies, the Red Cross and NGO's.
