Patient advocate Bayliss reinstated after whistle-blowing row
Patient advocate Louise Bayliss has been reinstated in her job at the Irish Advocacy Network.
Bayliss acted as an advocate for patients at various hospitals around Dublin.
She claimed she was sacked after speaking out after discovering female patients at St Brendan’s Psychiatric Hospital in Grangegorman, Dublin, were being moved to a "lock up" ward over Christmas.
The separated mother of two, who also voiced her concerns on RTÉ’s Liveline, had her six-month contract cut short by the Irish Advocacy Network (IAN), which is part-funded by the Health Service Executive.
