Teachers retired in February can work until end of school year

Teachers who retire at the end of February with a full pension could continue working for months afterwards.
Up to 1,600 teachers are expected to retire at the end of next month, before new pension changes take effect.
It is believed many teachers will have to return in substitute roles as they will be leaving during the academic year.
Sheila Nunan, of the teachers union the INTO, said the arrangement will be only be in place for a short time.
Ms Nunan said: "If the school's board of management, the teacher and the school believe that to be the best option for the school then that facility is available.
"I would imagine that the substitution work would be done solely on the basis of those exam classes. I would imagine that they will be entitled to receive their pension, but it is a very particular arrangement for a very short period of time."
